For years, The Fox Hotel
has been Brisbane’s go to venue on the weekend for cheap basics and a Sunday sesh that went all night, however after closing down in 2012, they have now refurbished, welcoming a much over-due new look.
On Sunday 18th November 2013 The Fox Hotel held the ‘Soho Sundays Launch Party’ featuring a fashion show by Aje, a boutique designer that has now opened in Westfield Carindale. The garments on display were effortless, soft and embellished with their iconic sequin detail throughout the show, with A-Line skirts and sheer material adding finesse. The crowd came well dressed and ready to party – getting into the spirit with drinks, cupcakes and tapas on offer. Sterling Silver was on the music, singing numerous covers including a range of pop, dance and alternative songs, which was really cool and awesome to hear.
Overall, Soho Sundays starts from 12pm at The Fox, with a fun yet chill vibe. The refurbishments have really done them justice – changing the scene from the old Fox to a new cleaner, more stylised feel at Dandy’s Rooftop Bar. The location is perfect on the cusp of South Brisbane and West End and the view from the top is pretty cool.
Potter down on a Sunday and check out what’s going on, and if it’s not your scene you can easily move on to one of West Ends many bars or Southbanks various dinner options.
Drinks: $25 for a special mix jug, cocktails from $15
Eat: Sliders and kebabs
Atmosphere: Cool Sunday arvo vibes, pretty good music and a lot of space to chill.
Crowd: All different, dress was anywhere from good casual to dressed up.
Dandy’s Rooftop Bar is open Thursday to Friday from 3pm until late and Saturday to Sunday from 12pm until late at The Fox Hotel 71 – 73 Melbourne Street, South Brisbane, QLD, 4101.
