The Funniest Pick-up Lines from Italian Men

Image: http://uomo-moderno.com

As a woman, walking through the streets of Italy, you will notice there’s a bit of a ‘trend’ with Italian men’s pick up lines. It’s not about the car I drive, or the clothes I wear, because the truth is that it doesn’t really matter to them. Moving to Italy from an English speaking country like Australia, America or England can be quite a culture shock. Not only do you not speak the language, you also need to learn the language of love – whether you like it or not.

Italian men don’t hold back, if they think you’re pretty, interesting, or just here for a good time they will let you know without hesitation.

If you encounter one of these golden lines pledged to you, just take it as a compliment and keep walking, because they really do try hard to be kind, but to me it just isn’t genuine, and that’s the problem. So I have gathered some of the funniest things either overheard, or said to us by Italian men during our stay in Florence so far.

“Ciao Bellaaa!”

This is a common comment made when walking through the streets, usually by men standing around when a woman walks past. Yes it is a compliment, but expect to hear it more than once while you’re in Italy, and sadly don’t take it too seriously, because it’s their way of saying ‘I see you, do you see me?’.

“You look like an angel that has fallen from the sky!” With hand waving to demonstrate above (where you fell from).

Yes she has blonde hair, and pearly white skin, but it’s that Italian passion, that also can be mistaken for overly dramatic.

*Walking through Centro Storico on a Saturday night holding a pizza box*

“Ciao bella, do you like pizza? Cause I do too…” winks.

This pizza is all for me buddy.

“Do you know where Piazza del Duomo is?”

The local Italian ragazzi pretending to be lost and looking for directions, but really they are trying to spark up conversation, smart idea actually. This one is el-classico on a Saturday night, when walking the streets. Sneaky, sneaky!

“Oh my god” followed by “Che bella”

So are you shocked, disgusted or excited?… It’s all about the tone, and honestly we’re not too sure.

“Belllllisssimma” mumbled under their breath at you

Again, it’s that tone, oh so creeepy!

All in all, we get a kick out of the things said on the streets of Florence, Italy, and hey! it’s technically a compliment. So please be aware that only some men say these things and I do not wish to stereotype every single man in Italy.

What are the funniest pick up lines you’ve heard on the streets of Italy?!

Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The
words in your article seem to be running off the screen in Chrome.

I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you
know. The layout look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Kudos
